Sessions Appoints New President, Chief Academic Officer

Sessions College for Professional Design, a fully online college for creative arts, today announced the promotion and appointment of Gordon Drummond as President. Mr. Drummond most recently served as Chief Academic Officer of the College. The appointment was announced by Doris Granatowski, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

For-Profit Institutions Show Increasing Dependence on Federal Student Aid

Eight for-profit colleges failed to meet the requirements of a federal law that says they can get no more than 90 percent of their revenues from federal student-aid programs, and an additional 257 of them took in nearly the legal limit, exceeding the 85-percent mark, according to a recent released by the Department of Education.

Register Now for DETC's Title IV Seminar

The Distance Education and Training Council will be hosting a Title IV Financial Aid Seminar in conjunction with the Annual Conference. The Seminar, which will take place Wednesday, April 6th, will feature a presentation by Dr. Sharon Bob, Special Consultant to DETC. Dr. Bob will cover updates to requirements with which institutions must comply when they become eligible to participate in the Title IV programs—a must attend for any institution working with Title IV Funds!

Report from the Accrediting Commission

In accordance with Federal Regulations, the DETC Accrediting Commission provides written notice of its accrediting decisions to appropriate accrediting organizations and state agencies, the public, and the U.S. Department of Education.
