Department of Education Continues DETC Recognition

The Distance Education and Training Council is proud to announce that, pursuant to recommendations from both department staff and the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI), the Department of Education has decided to continue the Council's federal recognition through August 2017.

The DETC’s Accrediting Commission has been recognized by the Federal Government since 1959. This recognition brings with it institutional eligibility for Federal Title IV Financial Aid funding as well as G.I. Bill funding, Military Tuition Assistance, MyCAA military spouse funding and numerous corporate tuition assistance programs.

DETC Appoints New Executive Director

The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Leah K. Matthews as the new Executive Director. Dr. Matthews was appointed by the Accrediting Commission following a national search. She will succeed Michael P. Lambert as just the seventh Executive Director in the DETC’s 87 year history. Mr. Lambert is retiring after 41 years of service to DETC.
