CHEA Almanac Online
Now Available on the CHEA Website

The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) has launched The CHEA Almanac Online, now available on the CHEA Website.

"The CHEA Almanac Online is an important addition to the information on higher education accreditation available from CHEA, making up-to-date facts and statistics on U.S. accreditation easy to find and use," said CHEA President Judith Eaton. "This new electronic resource is designed to provide more information to the public on accreditation and its operations."

The CHEA Almanac Online provides a convenient, easy-to-use reference for:

  • Recognition status of accrediting organizations reviewed by CHEA, the U.S. Department of Education or both.

  • Recent accrediting actions by recognized accrediting organizations, including formal actions to grant, reaffirm, defer, deny or withdraw accreditation.

  • The number of institutions and programs accredited by recognized accrediting organizations and the number of students enrolled, sorted by the type of accreditor.

  • Institutions and programs operating outside the United States and accredited by U.S. accrediting organizations.

The CHEA Almanac Online serves as an online companion to the CHEA Almanac of External Quality Review, published every two years. The online almanac can be found on the CHEA Website at www.chea.org.
