2012 DoD Worldwide Education Symposium Recap

The 2012 DoD Worldwide Education Symposium took place July 23-27 at the MGM Grand and The Signature at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The theme of this year’s meeting was “Salute to Possibilities: Paving the Way for Our Military Community."

The Department of Defense’s Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support (DANTES) hosted the event. The theme for WW12, was Educating the Force - Joint Effort, Joint Success, and it explored strategies to effectively deliver voluntary education programs that enhance the Service member's capacity to serve while enabling them to improve their quality of life.

There were more than 200 speakers and 75 topics covered in the breakout sessions. An estimated 2,600 people attended the Symposium. Twelve DETC-accredited institutions sponsored booths at the Expo Hall next to the Conference Center, which held more than 250 exhibitors. Presentations from the Symposium’s keynote and breakout sessions are available available on the the DoD Worldwide Symposium website.
