NOTE: This session is one of three that will be offered twice, during an afternoon of concurrent sessions.

By using and exploring a variety of social networking tools including Twitter, Wall Wisher, bookmarking tools, and more, participants will become familiar with creating a personal learning network and connecting to experts in their fields. The session is great for administrators, faculty, and students!

About the Presenter:

Ms. Kristi Bordelon has been in the field of education for 20 years. her prior experience includes Elementary, gifted, and computer education. While in the public school system, Kristi served on various IEP committees, Technology Committees, and Steering Committees. In the private sector, she designed and delivered computer classes to K-12 students, technology integration professional development to PreK-12 teachers, and productivity software courses to businesses.In 1997, Kristi had her first experience with distance learning working in a teaching partnership on ProShare with Intel. She was immediately hooked on the benefits of online learning.

Since her initial experience with online education, Kristi has been a student, teacher, author, and administrator of online classes and programs. An online professional development technology integration course she wrote for Teacher Education Institute, Integrating Technology in the Classroom, was awarded the ISTE NETS-T Seal of Alignment.

Since joining Teacher Education University as the Chief Education Officer, Kristi has written and taught various technology courses, served on the Executive, Curriculum, and Steering Committees, interviewed and advised students, and served as Technology Director. Additionally, she has served on accreditation teams for the Distance Education and Training Council.

Kristi received her B.S. in Elementary Education and her M.A. in Instructional/Educational Technology from the University of Central Florida. She is currently completing her PhD in Higher Education Administration at Northcentral University.
