At the 2008 DETC conference, David Nelson told us "Computers, as we know them, will disappear". By now, everyone has read the headlines and heard the exhortations about how Cloud Computing (running our applications and storing our data on the web) will transform our lives.

But just what are these applications that will lead us into this exciting new paradigm? This session will spotlight a number of the hottest web-based applications, including a description and example of "The Virtual Office, for Virtually Nothing". Come learn how to separate fact from fiction, and determine for yourself if the promise of cloud computing is finally coming true!

About the Presenter:

For almost 20 years, Mr. David Nelson has been an international 'six-continents' member traveling all over the world and speaking on business and technology issues for companies like Electronic Data Systems, Novell (previous home of Google’s chairman Eric Schmidt), and most recently as the Chief Information Architect for Toyota Motor’s U.S. sales headquarters in Torrance, CA.

David is now principally involved in a strategic partnership with Schooley Mitchell Telecom Consulting in Los Angeles, which specializes in reducing telecom expense by intelligently bridging the gap between technology and finance while maximizing IT investment value. He also is presently in the start-up phases as co-founder a company called 4URLOVE (4urlove.com), which is dedicated to Caring for Caregivers of Alzheimer’s.
